Happy Halloween!
Kristin decide to be a bunny at the last minute, she came up with her whole costume, very cute. The night before she was a pirate for our 1st annual "Goblin night". Kristin and Lars came up with "Goblin" night, it involved a fire in our fire pit outside, and hot chocolate and cider. Lars dressed up as Buzz Light year. When he put his costume on, he ran out and said "I'm buzz light year, I come in peace".
This is our neighbors house across the street. Kristin's in the fence there, and you see Lars (aka Buzz Lightyear) there.
He wasn't too scared, but when it got dark he definitely wanted us by his side near all the "scaries" as he calls them.
Sitting outside waiting for trick or treaters

Kristin's starts Kindergarten!
Kristin's first day of Kindergarten!!
Aunt KK, also known as Ms. Larsen her new Kindergarten teacher picked her up this morning. Last night before bed Kristin kept saying, "I just can't wait, I just can't wait!" She was up at 6:30 this morning in my room with her uniform on already to go!

Just got back from our annual week long trip to our family's beach cottage on the Chesapeake Bay for July 4th. The Dvoracek's, my Dad, Aunt KK and Curt joined us. The weather was amazing, mid to low 80s, what a relief from the record highs we've had here! When we got home Lars had a break down for about 15 minutes, very upset, cause he wanted to go back to "Ryan's house" aka the beach cottage, not Lars' house.
Kristin's mission was to find a baby blue crab and a baby horseshoe crab shell to bring back to the local Nature and Science center. Which she did succeed at, along with finding several sharks teeth. Lars just wanted to walk up and down the beach to find rocks and throw them. He especially like the clay rocks that you could break in half (now there is 2 to throw!). He also often had Brown Bear and "Fwoggy" in tow with him. Needless to say Brown Bear and Fwoggy needed a good bath when they got home. The kids went fishing just about every night with Curt, and Kristin's favorite part, which she also participated in gleefully, was to cut the blood worms.

Kristin playing dress up. Love the 1984 headband! She also decided she need some make up on so she took some pink chapstick and put it all over her cheeks and lips...nice...
Ian is now taking bath with the big kids! He makes a bigger splash than the older kids do!
My pants are frequently drenched by the time he gets out of there.
Oh and one quick quote from Lars this morning, after Lars overheard me telling Ian I was going to "eat him up", Lars calmly said "Mommy don't bite Ian."

We spent Memorial Day at the beautiful Howell Estate. It was beautiful day, and the and we were thankful that they let us enjoy the day with them. Lars especially felt comfortable there, he took a nice 3 hour nap there.
My very talented friend Katherine, also took some beautiful pictures of Kristin as the sun was setting in a field near their house. Click here to see them.

My friend Katherine brought our Easter weekend to the next level with 8 dozen or so confetti eggs at the Easter egg hunt on Saturday and a last minute small animal (bunnies, chicks, and baby goats) petting zoo at her house on Sunday. Here's a few pics from the weekend. Oh and Ian's 6 months today and very happy and smiley about it!

Last couple of pics from February. Kristin went to a birthday party and was very excited about the tiger face she got painted on her face.
She loves the predators, and going around the house acting like one.
Also, Ian was baptized this month. Lars kept telling the pastor stop when she was touching Ian's head (nice, just glad he didn't scream at her). And Kristin got to pour the water into the baptism bowl. Ian as usual was laid back about the whole thing.

Grandma Kat has been staying with us this month. Here's a pic of Lars and her making her new signature salad. The salad is romaine, tangelo slices, and sliced avocado. With a dressing of olive oil, red wine vinegar, little salt, and lots of garlic powder. Yum! Lars loves food and cooking, he always bringing one of his chairs over to go look and see what going on and if can help or eat whatever is being prepared.

We just got a new firepit for the backyard, and Kristin's fancy doll decided to join the party. Which now ofcourse smells like smoke (it was out there before I realized it). You can see there was bit of discussion here about who was going to sit in the pink chair. Thought this was supposed to be fun :)
Notice Kristin is sitting on the ground behind the bigger chair.

Post Christmas Holiday Pics
After 5 days of fever and wanting to constantly be held by either mommy or daddy, and a trip to the emergency room right before Christmas, he was back on the trampoline 3 days later jumping away. I found Lars today running around the living room and falling down on his back and saying "ugh" and then doing it over and over again, like he was wrestling with himself. And then he jumped off our bed tonight to the ground (we have a pretty high bed with the frame etc), like it was nothing, and then on occasion I will find him on the couch or our bed standing there (which ofcourse is against the house "rules"), and then will completely fall forward with his body completely straight and his head goes right into the mattress, and he just giggles. Future stunt man I think.
Kind of a goofy pic of Ian, but I like it for some reason
I have blue eyed, very long little boy, wasn't expecting that,
but you never know what genes they are going to inherit
